THE CIGARIÈRES FOOTBRIDGE has won the 2026 Steel Award!

Located in Yverdon-les-Bains, it is the first Swiss engineering structure built using low-carbon steel🌱.

It is made from 150 tonnes of ArcelorMittal’s XCarb® steel, produced using 100 per cent renewable electricity and entirely recycled materials. ♻️ This choice reduces CO₂ emissions by 60 per cent per tonne of steel sheet.

This structure also celebrates the town’s history. Its green colour evokes the iconic Hermès typewriters, whilst its name pays tribute to the female workers at the Vautier cigar factory.
