Let’s talk fireproof facade! 🔥

The Trèfle d’Or building in Lancy (GE) combines offices, shops and housing and incorporates fire-resistant facades. Along the four-lane Route de Saint-Julien, the aluminium post-and-beam façade on the upper floors meets the EI30 fire standard, while the ground floor complies with OPAM protection (Ordinance on Protection against Major Accidents). The glazing has been tested for its ability to absorb the energy and heat of a possible roadside explosion.

For the shops on the ground floor, the EI60 facetted steel facade with a ceiling height of 4.50 metres prevents the transmission of heat and smoke into the living spaces in the event of a fire, thanks to insulating glass containing gel that expands as required, and to sheet metal panels made of fireproof sheets and rock wool, a material that releases moisture as the temperature rises.
